Johns Hopkins Hospital, 2012
I was one of 40 international artists invited to create work for Johns Hopkins new Charlotte Bloomberg Children’s Hospital funded by Mayor Bloomberg of NYC. The exterior of the building, inspired by Monet, was designed by artist Spencer Fitch. I made work for the Pediatric Oncology ward. Each artist was given children's books to serve as inspiration. I selected books with optimistic outcomes. My desire was that my chromatic palettes and landscapes might add a glimmer of hope, healing, and humor to medical challenges.
